Pointillism

Look Mum!! I am doing Pointtt - ti - liissmm... did I say it right? It's quite a mouth full you know.

I wanted to do dots but i guess this is much more fun...

Now that I am done with my right hand... it's my left hand next!!

Pointillism is a technique of painting in which a lot of tiny dots are combined to form a picture. Infusing the works of famous pointillism French Artist, Georges Seurat, 1859-1891, we created our unique style -
The Flight of the Butterflies.

Warm Colours

I am lucky to have Mr. Camera-man in class today to help me with some pictures. Here are some beautiful shots from him. Hope you like them too.

I Love Singapore!

It's late, but better than never! Happy 44th Birthday Singapore!
I was thinking of doing a craft flag to wave around but how boring that can be. So I decided to do a Parachuter. It reminded me of good old days when we made our own toys to keep ourselves busy during childhood. I hope it did bring some fun to your little ones too!

Let's Cut

Cutting is not only an interesting and fun activity for children, but it is a useful way of helping your child to master the small muscles controlling the hand, fingers, and thumb. Do not underestimate the importance of cutting, but of course, adult supervision is highly recommended.

Protect Our Planet

Save Our Earth and Make a Difference
It may not be Earth Day, but to me everyday is Earth Day. Sometimes I wonder can I really make a difference. The truth is, YES! Even though it is just little ME but there is YOU too. Help save the earth.

Parental Tip #2

How to improve your child's drawing?

The answer: Look, look and look more

The most important factor is the ability to see. But not just seeing, you must observe. When you look really hard and concentrate on something, it helps to conceptualise thoughts and ideas. It is that simple but it is not easy. Just remember to enjoy the process of it.

Lines Make Shapes

Inspired by famous artist Piet Mondrian, I decided to show my class another side of art - Abstract Art. Some children get frustrated with themselves because they can't get their art right. Acknowledge and accept these feelings rather than telling them "it's ok" because it is not ok. Suggest to them that art comes in different form and their masterpiece can be considered as an abstract art.
